Mechanical engineers have always been needed as an essential staff personnel in various industries of both public and private sector. Their work criteria changes according to the type and domain of the company they are working with.As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially. Every manufacturing and production industry needs mechanical engineers to carry out jobs efficiently and flawlessly for their companies.

About Department

One of the founding departments of Sarang Institute of Polytechnic with the intake of 60 students, the Mechanical Engineering Department set to play an important role in evolving an ‘Engineering Science’ based curriculum and served as a role model for many academic institutes in the country.

The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to enhance the knowledge and skill of the students in the field of technology & Engineering, by grooming the students in all theoretical and Practical aspects and to contribute significantly towards the creation of a strong technical workforce that would bridge the gap between the Industry requirement and academic orientation. Over the years, interaction with industry and the emphasis on applied engineering has increased.

The strength of the department lies in its highly qualified and expert faculty besides its excellent non-teaching staff. To complement this is the presence of the diligent students who epitomize enthusiasm and devotion. Thus, it has been a firm resolves to keep up with the modern day trends and in the process produce erudite and conscientious engineers.

The department undertakes a powerful multi-step teaching process that threads together the latent expertise and the talents of the students and weaves out the finest mechanical engineers.

The primary focus of the Department is to expose the young minds to the world of technology instilling in them confidence and fortitude to face new challenges enabling them to shine in their chosen fields.
